Over 1 trillion soums to be allocated for needy families during Ramadan

On February 16, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting dedicated to supporting the needy population during Ramadan. It outlined a comprehensive set of measures to strengthen social protection.
Within the framework of this program, 750 billion soums will be allocated to the “Vaqf” charitable public fund, and 300 billion soums through the National Agency for Social Protection. The funds will be used to provide one-time financial assistance to needy families and cover the costs of treatment and surgery for people with disabilities. The President emphasized that assistance must be provided on the basis of transparent lists, equally and fairly, regardless of the religion, nationality and social background of citizens.

It is recalled that in Uzbekistan, the month of Ramadan will begin on February 19 in 2026. The need to organize Ramadan events on a compact and economical basis was noted.
