Over 1,000 women in Tajikistan apply for domestic violence

More than 1.2 thousand applications from women and men were registered in the resource center for gender issues of the Committee on Women and Family Affairs

In Tajikistan, 1204 appeals on cases of domestic violence have been registered.

These figures were announced by the Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan during a press conference following the results of the first half of 2023.

All facts were recorded in the resource center for gender issues.

As noted in the department, 1075 appeals were received from women and 129 from men.

With regard to other statements, the committee was approached by:

on issues of alimony - 92 times;

for financial assistance - 31 times;

on housing and land disputes - 21 times;

employment - 10 times;

on other issues - 12 times.

Also, the department reported that for 6 months of this year, 89.4 thousand women went on migration. This figure is 32 thousand more compared to the same period in 2022.

Meanwhile, 64 thousand returned to their homeland, which is 17.8 thousand more than last year.
