Organs from a deceased donor in Kazakhstan saved the lives of three people
In Astana, Kazakhstan, the heart, lungs, and liver of a deceased donor were harvested for transplantation. These organs gave three patients a chance at life. The Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan noted that such complex procedures require the coordinated efforts of doctors, transplant specialists, donor coordinators, and air ambulance personnel. The Ministry expressed special gratitude to the donor's family for making a difficult decision during a trying time.
From the beginning of the year through September 11, 132 potential deceased donors were identified in Kazakhstan, and 205 transplants were performed. A total of 42 organs from deceased donors were transplanted.
