Opera "Tamerlane" dedicated to Amir Temur performed at the Palace of Versailles
On the stage of the Royal Opera House of Versailles in Paris, France, George Frideric Handel's opera "Tamerlane", dedicated to the life and work of Amir Temur, was performed by the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan.
Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, reported this on her Telegram page. She noted that after successful performances in Dubai, Vienna and St. Petersburg, the opera has now been presented to the Paris audience.
Saida Mirziyoyeva noted that such cultural projects play an important role in bringing peoples closer and developing cultural diplomacy.
For information, the opera "Tamerlane" was first performed in Uzbekistan on October 2, 2024 at the State Academic Bolshoi Theater named after Alisher Navoi, directed by Stefano Poda. The performance features Handel's original music, reworked in a modern interpretation by composer Kirill Richter and performed to the accompaniment of Uzbek national musical instruments.
