Officials Punished for Forcing Employees to Pick Cotton

In the Qumqorgon district of Surxondaryo region, deputy hokim N. Jumaeva was fined for forcing employees to participate in cotton picking.
Similarly, the head of the Information and Library Center in Bukhara city, N. Aminova, was also penalized for the same violation.

According to the Ministry of Employment, constant monitoring has been established during the cotton harvest season to prevent forced and child labor.
So far, 74 violations have been identified, and eight officials have been fined for engaging people in forced labor.

Additionally, over 1,400 cotton pickers have signed official seasonal labor contracts.
