Officials have denied information that Kazakhstan is expelling all Uzbek migrants

Recently, information appeared on social networks that "citizens of foreign countries temporarily working in Kazakhstan were asked to leave the country from November 10 to 21." This message has been widely distributed among Uzbekistanis working in Kazakhstan, the correspondent reports Podrobno.uz .

The Agency for External Labor Migration reported that this information is not true. 

According to the decree of the Government of Kazakhstan, citizens of Uzbekistan can stay in Kazakhstan for up to 30 days from the date of crossing the border. However, the total period of stay should not exceed 90 calendar days within 180 calendar days, that is, a citizen cannot stay in Kazakhstan continuously for more than 90 calendar days.

Citizens of Uzbekistan who are going to work in Kazakhstan, after concluding an employment contract with an employer within 30 days, must register it at the Public Service Center and obtain a work and residence permit for up to three months.
