Officially! The format of the European Champions League will change next season!

There are matches in the WC today. But this format will change from next season. In particular, 36 teams will participate in the tournament instead of 32. All of them play games in the Swiss system in one common group. In the group stage, instead of 6, 8 games will be played. The top eight teams automatically qualify for the playoffs. Clubs from 9th to 24th place will play each other for the remaining 8 tickets. Teams from 25th to 36th place will leave the competition.
