Official Barcelona Football Academy May Open in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan may soon host the academy of Spain’s famous football club Barcelona — Barca Academy. The Uzbekistan Football Association announced the news. It was noted that under the leadership of Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov, an online meeting was held via Zoom with the participation of Ravshan Ermatov, First Vice President of the Uzbekistan Football Association, and representatives of FC Barcelona. During the discussions, the parties considered the development of children’s and youth football in the country, training young players according to international standards, and the implementation of the Barca Academy project in Uzbekistan. They exchanged views on introducing an education system based on the “La Masia” methodology, improving coaches’ qualifications, promoting modern football philosophy, and selecting talented youth. At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to jointly explore the possibilities of implementing the Barca Academy project in Uzbekistan and to expand international cooperation in football.
