It was previously reported that Odilxon Qori Ismoilov—who had served as an imam at several mosques in Tashkent and was the founder of "Rayxon Oilaviy Milliy Taomlari" (Rayxon Family National Cuisine)—had been detained in connection with two criminal cases. In the first case, he was charged with crimes including embezzlement, sham entrepreneurship, official misconduct, and document forgery; in the second case, Odilxon Qori and five others were accused of economic crimes, tax evasion, and document forgery.
According to the verdict of the Pop District Court for Criminal Cases, Odilxon Ismoilov was sentenced to 7 years, 11 months, and 28 days of imprisonment. The other six defendants in the case were also sentenced to prison terms of varying lengths, commensurate with the crimes they had committed.
Additionally, it was ordered that the material damages caused during the commission of these crimes be recovered from the defendants on a joint and several liability basis. An appeal or cassation complaint against the verdict may be filed in accordance with the procedure established by law.
