"O'zbekiston temir yo'llari" to repair railway in Afghanistan

On November 8, 2023, in the city of Hairaton, Balkh region of Afghanistan, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Temir Yullari Joint Stock Company Z.A meeting was held between Narzullayev and the head of the Afghan Railways Department Bakht-ar-Rahman Sharafat. Issues of cooperation in the field of railway transport were discussed at the meeting.

The main topics of the negotiations concerned the reconstruction of the section of the Hairaton–Naibabad–Mazar-I-Sharif railway. Both sides expressed interest in the development and modernization of this section.

Following the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on the early start of construction work on the Hairaton–Naibabad–Mazar-I-Sharif section, which will be carried out by specialists of Uzbekistan Temir Yullari JSC. This cooperation will serve to strengthen trade and economic relations and open up new prospects for the development of railway communication between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.

Both sides expressed hope for further cooperation and mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of railway transport. This cooperation will contribute to improving the transport infrastructure of the region and creating favorable conditions for the development of trade and economy in Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
