Nurse Jailed in Kashkadarya for Attempting to Sell a 5-Year-Old Girl Twice

A 32-year-old nurse working at a local polyclinic in the Koson district of Kashkadarya region has been sentenced to prison for attempting to sell a five-year-old girl on two separate occasions.

According to the investigation, the woman conspired with the child’s mother and arranged to sell the girl, born in 2020, to another woman for 19.7 million soums. Later, she promised to provide the buyer with the child’s birth certificate and received an additional 2 million soums.

However, the nurse did not stop there — she later teamed up with a 60-year-old man and planned to sell the same child again to another buyer for 15,000 US dollars. They were detained by law enforcement officers while attempting to finalize the deal.

During the court hearing, the woman partially admitted her guilt, claiming financial hardship as her motivation. The court deemed her actions a serious crime.

By court decision, the nurse was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison and fined 30 times the base calculation rate. Her accomplice received a 3-year restriction of liberty and the same amount of fine.

Authorities confirmed that the child is safe and under proper care.
