🎓 Number of students in Uzbekistan exceeds 1.4 million

 

The number of students studying in higher education institutions in Uzbekistan at the beginning of the 2024/2025 academic year amounted to 1 million 432.8 thousand. This figure has increased by 5.4 times compared to 2015/2016. The total number of students by year is as follows:

• At the beginning of the 2015/2016 academic year – 264.3 thousand;
• At the beginning of the 2016/2017 academic year – 268.3 thousand;
• At the beginning of the 2017/2018 academic year – 297.7 thousand;
• At the beginning of the 2018/2019 academic year – 360.2 thousand;
• At the beginning of the 2019/2020 academic year – 441 thousand people;
• At the beginning of the 2020/2021 academic year – 571.5 thousand people;
• At the beginning of the 2021/2022 academic year – 808.4 thousand people;
• At the beginning of the 2022/2023 academic year – 1 million 042.1 thousand people;
• At the beginning of the 2023/2024 academic year – 1 million 314.5 thousand people;
• At the beginning of the 2024/2025 academic year – 1 million 432.8 thousand people.

782 thousand of the students are women.
Also, children from poor families will now be provided with interest-free educational loans, additional grants, and assistance with contract payments.
