Now there are elective subjects in 4 directions for upperclassmen

By order of the minister of preschool and school education No. 192 of June 27, 2023, in the upper classes of general secondary schools (10th grades in the current academic year), elective subjects were defined in 4 areas (mathematics-physics, native language-foreign language, chemistry-biology, mathematics-foreign language) and the list of experimental-testing procedures, curricula, explanatory note, pilot schools was approved.

In the 2023/2024 academic year, 135 secondary schools were selected in the Republic, and a total of 4,050 students in 137 classes in these schools are studying on the basis of educational programs developed from the experiences of the President, creativity, specialized schools.

In particular, in 16 classes in the direction of Mathematics-Physics, 51 in the direction of mother tongue-Foreign Language, 40 in the direction of Chemistry-Biology, 30 in the direction of mathematics-foreign language, students are studying in the areas of their interest. The knowledge of students studying on the basis of competitive subjects is assessed on the basis of a new formative and summative assessment system established in the presidential, creative and specialized schools. From the coming academic years, new directions are planned to be recommended, depending on the interest and ability of students.
