Now the fine is the responsibility of the person behind the wheel

Starting from April 1, in case of violation of traffic rules by persons who have received the right to drive a vehicle in Uzbekistan, the fine will be paid not by the vehicle owner, but by the offending driver. This was stipulated in Government Resolution No. 125 of March 30.

According to the new regulations, the vehicle owner must notify the transfer of the right to drive to another person through the State Traffic Safety Administration (my.gov.uz) or the mobile application of the Road Traffic Safety Service. The person who has received the right to drive gives his consent to the imposition of a fine by confirming the questionnaire via an electronic digital signature, Mobile-ID or Face-ID. A fee of 10% of the state tax (42,000 soums) will be charged for the service.

Also, a vehicle registration certificate will now be issued for a period of 5 years.
