Not a shark, but a “shark-like catfish”: details clarified about the incident in Fergana
Earlier, it was reported that a shark was being kept in the basement of one of the apartment buildings in Fergana. The Environmental Protection Department investigated the situation and found that the information was incorrect.
It turned out that a resident of the Muruvvat mahalla in Fergana city had been keeping Siamese catfish, also known as pangasius, not a shark. The fish is considered an aquarium species.
Because of its resemblance to a shark, some people mistakenly thought it was a shark. According to the owner, the fish are no longer in the basement and have been moved to the yard of his home.
