The ban applies to cars with a capacity of up to nine passengers.
In Norway, a ban was introduced on the entry of cars with Russian license plates into the country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country reported. The ban will come into effect on October 3.

The restriction applies to cars with a capacity of up to nine passengers.

"Thus, it is still possible to cross the border, for example, by minibuses and buses," the report says.

At the same time, an exception has been introduced for cars belonging to Norwegian citizens or citizens of European Economic Area countries permanently residing in Russia and their relatives. In addition, the restrictions do not apply to diplomatic transport and vehicles belonging to international organizations. In addition, there may be exceptions for humanitarian reasons, the ministry clarified.

At the beginning of September 2023, the European Commission provided clarifications on how EU member states should apply the ban on the import of goods from Russia, including cars. After that, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland and Finland banned cars with Russian license plates from entering their territory.
