North Korea legislates nuclear response to Kim Jong Un threat

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has amended the country's constitution to provide for an automatic nuclear response in the event of an assassination attempt, the Daily Mail reported, citing South Korean intelligence.

The new order reportedly stipulates that the military will launch an immediate nuclear strike if Kim Jong-un is killed or becomes incapacitated.

Analysts say the move comes as Pyongyang grows increasingly concerned after the US and Israel carried out strikes on senior officials in Iran.

The law also stipulates that if North Korea's nuclear command system is threatened, an "automatic and immediate" response will be launched.

Experts say that North Korea's isolation from the world makes any potential operation against Kim Jong-un more difficult than against Iran.
