Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation of the work being carried out in the fields of culture and tourism and new future projects. The presentation considered the project of the new Silk Road Museum, which is planned to be built on an area of 9 hectares in the city of Samarkand. It was noted that this complex will house more than 6 thousand unique exhibits related to archeology, fine and applied arts. The museum will include permanent and temporary exhibition halls, a 160-seat auditorium, a children's academy, a conservation and research center. In the tourism sector, it was noted that since the beginning of this year, almost 3 million foreign tourists have visited our country, and the export of tourism services has reached $ 1.1 billion. The goal is to attract 20 million foreign tourists by 2030, and to serve 12 million tourists by 2026. In order to effectively use the unique tourist potential of the regions, it is planned to begin implementing 31 master plans in 2026-2027, create more than 40 thousand new jobs, increase the number of accommodation facilities to 8 thousand 250, and increase the number of tourist villages and neighborhoods to 84. In addition, the meeting discussed proposals for the gradual modernization of 839 cultural centers in the republic and the wide involvement of the private sector in their activities in order to increase the population's interest in cultural institutions. Currently, it is planned to allocate more than 1 trillion soums to the cultural sector by 2030. At the end of the meeting, relevant instructions were given to the officials to thoroughly develop the discussed projects based on accurate calculations and implement them in stages.
