New payment system to be introduced in Tashkent metro

A system of calculating fares based on the distance traveled or the number of stops will be introduced in the Tashkent metro. This is stipulated by the Presidential Decree.
According to the new system, passengers will pay based on the distance traveled. Benefits for certain categories of citizens will be preserved, and daily, weekly and monthly passes will also be introduced.
According to the plan, the system is expected to be launched from January 1, 2027. Relevant proposals will be submitted to the government within 6 months.
It is also planned to create additional amenities at metro stations, including vending machines, points of sale and the introduction of the Park & ​​Ride system by organizing parking lots in front of metro stations.
