Starting from September 1, 2026, fares on city buses in Tashkent will be paid only when boarding the bus. This was announced by a government resolution and the Ministry of Transport.
According to the new procedure, passengers will pay when boarding the bus using a transport card, bank card, smartphone or other contactless electronic payment methods (NFC, QR, etc.). Privileged passengers will confirm their payment using special transport or social cards. If the fare is not paid when boarding the bus, the passenger will be considered to be traveling without a ticket.
Also, until the end of 2027, customs duties will be zero for the import of buses that meet new environmental requirements. It is also planned to introduce a new integrated system to improve the urban transport system and unify payments.
