New opportunities have been created to support women in Uzbekistan

At a festive event organized at the Kuksaroy residence, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated all women on March 8 - International Women's Day and recognized their contribution to society, family, motherhood and entrepreneurship. He called women a central force in the development of society and emphasized that he values ​​​​them as the "creators of the New Uzbekistan".

Decisions announced at the event:

🔹 "Income-Profitable Woman" program: 50 thousand women who are engaged in home-based business will be supported (home-based business, handicrafts, poultry farming, beekeeping, gardening).

🔹 A total of 1 trillion soums will be allocated for 3 thousand women's projects within the framework of the "Hamroh" program.

🔹 In 2026, 1.5 million women will be made profitable, of which 400 thousand will be involved in business; 166 thousand women will be trained in modern professions, 100 thousand in the IT sector.

🔹 Higher education and vocational programs for women serving sentences will be introduced; contract fees will be covered by the state.

🔹 Joint master's programs with top 300 universities: contract fees for female students will be covered by the state.

🔹 State grants: grants for women from needy families will be doubled, 4 thousand quotas will be allocated; girls enrolled in state technical schools will receive education on a full grant basis.

🔹 Startup and innovation support: startup competitions in at least 10 areas per year, grants of up to 500 million soums to each winner.

The President noted Uzbekistan's achievements in international rankings in gender equality and governance: 36th place in the Inter-Parliamentary Union ranking, 52nd place in the "Gender Equality and Governance" index, 48th place in the World Bank's "Women, Business and Law" index.
