New law for bloggers and influencers in Uzbekistan

On May 7, 2025, the rights of users of online platforms were discussed in the Oliy Majlis. Representatives of the AOKA and the media industry participated in the event.

The project considered the issues of protecting citizens' rights on the Internet, protecting them from false information and illegal content. It was also stated that changes would be made to regulate the activities of online platforms and websites, and to determine the responsibility of influencers and bloggers.

The new draft law, for the first time in Uzbekistan, separates the concepts of blogger and influencer. According to such changes, the logical obligations of bloggers will be eased, and clear norms of responsibility and accountability will be introduced for influencers.

The new draft law will be submitted for public discussion.
