New coronavirus strain identified in China

Virologists in China have identified a new strain of coronavirus in bats that can infect humans like COVID-19. The virus is a new strain of coronavirus HKU5, which was first discovered in a Japanese bat in Hong Kong. Experts from the Guangzhou Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wuhan University and the Wuhan Institute of Virology conducted the research in a laboratory in Guangzhou. Virologists say that the new virus isolated from bat samples can infect human cells. Scientists say there is no reason for concern yet.
