Netflix Acquires Rights to New Seasons of “Masha and the Bear”

Netflix has acquired the rights to stream new seasons of the popular Russian animated series “Masha and the Bear,” according to Deadline.

The streaming platform has also extended its agreement to distribute previously released episodes of the show and its spin-offs. In the upcoming episodes, Masha will attend kindergarten for the first time. The storyline will also explore Yeti and his family.

Netflix will continue to stream the series in more than 100 countries, including the United States and Canada. “Masha and the Bear” remains one of the platform’s most successful children’s shows, alongside Peppa Pig and PAW Patrol.

The animated series first premiered in 2009. It was created by Animaccord, a studio co-founded by Oleg Kuzovkov.

Earlier, in May 2026, it was reported that Kuzovkov was producing the first feature-length animated film based on “Masha and the Bear.” However, reports also indicated disagreements between him and the studio that owns the “Masha and the Bear” brand regarding the film’s production and release.
