On July 24, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suggested that the United States form a military alliance with his country to counter the Iranian threat: "If we unite, we will win, they will lose," "And my friends, I am here today to convince you of one thing: we will win," said Netanyahu.
He also said that Israel is waging a war against terrorism, which threatens not only itself, but also the United States and the Arab world, and called on Washington to speed up the delivery of military aid to Israel to defeat the Hamas group in the Gaza Strip. Iran has said it is behind both Hamas, Lebanon's Hezbollah group and Yemen's Houthis, and that the ruling regime in Tehran is a threat to the Middle East and the world.
In addition, Netanyahu denied accusations of Israeli strikes on civilians in the Gaza Strip and called Palestinian supporters "pro-Iranians".
As members of Congress stood and applauded Netanyahu, House of Representatives member Rashida Tlaib protested with a sign that read "War monger."
