Nestle recalls some infant formula products globally

Nestle has begun a voluntary recall of some infant formula products worldwide (including Uzbekistan) after it was found to contain cereulide, a toxin that can cause food poisoning. The company said in a statement: “The safety and health of infants is our top priority.”

Cereulide is a toxin produced by certain strains of the bacterium Bacillus cereus that can cause rapid vomiting and stomach pain. It is not broken down during cooking or formula preparation.
