“National Sports Award — 2025”

On December 26, the Ministry of Sports of Uzbekistan and the National Olympic Committee held the “National Sports Award — 2025” ceremony. Weightlifter Akbar Jurayev was named Athlete of the Year. In 2025, he won gold medals at the Asian and World Championships as well as at the Islamic Solidarity Games, and also set a new world record.

The title of Best Female Athlete of the Year went to boxer Navbahor Hamidova. The Uzbekistan Football Association was recognized as the Best Sports Federation of the Year.

Awards were also presented to U-17 national team head coach Islombek Ismoilov, goalkeeper Ne’matulloh Rustamjonov, and Abdurahmon Fozilov in the “Best Sports Promoter” category.

Karate athlete Gulshan Alimardonova won the “Discovery of the Year” award, while 16-year-old paralympian Husniya Olimjonova was named the Best Young Paralympian of the Year.
