NASA Successfully Tests Its Supersonic Jet X-59

On October 28, NASA and Lockheed Martin successfully conducted the first test flight of the X-59 supersonic aircraft in the United States.
The project has been in development since 2018, with NASA investing over $518 million in its creation.

Unlike traditional supersonic jets that produce a loud sonic boom, the X-59 is designed to fly faster than sound with minimal noise, thanks to its innovative “quiet boom” technology.

Experts believe this breakthrough could pave the way for the return of supersonic passenger flights in the near future. NASA plans to analyze the results and prepare the X-59 for commercial testing by 2026.
