MP calls on Japarov and Tashiyev to reconcile

Member of the Kyrgyz parliament Umbetali Kydyraliev has urged President Sadyr Japarov and Kamchybek Tashiyev to resolve their differences.

Speaking at a parliamentary session, he said that the recent events in the country require a разумный and wise way out of the situation. However, he did not specify what kind of disagreements he was referring to and stressed the need for unity to continue reforms, calling on parliament to act in solidarity:

“I thought all night about the situation that has developed. I am sure they didn’t sleep either. I am older than them, so I take it upon myself to call on them to settle their differences… In any work there are shortcomings. I urge my friends to carry the reforms through to the end. Both of them are patriots and are ready to do anything for the sake of the people,” Kydyraliev said.

It is worth recalling that on February 10, Sadyr Japarov dismissed Kamchybek Tashiyev early from his post as head of Kyrgyzstan’s State Committee for National Security (SCNS).
