An explosion occurred near a mosque in the city of Kohat, in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province near the Afghan border. The incident took place during Friday prayers.
A vehicle laden with explosives rammed into the entrance of the mosque, located within a police compound. A shootout subsequently ensued. So far, it is reported that at least 15 people have been killed and more than 50 injured.
The death toll may rise, as some of the injured are in critical condition. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
