In the USA, the largest strike of medical workers in history has begun. 75,000 people took to the streets demanding an increase in wages and elimination of staff shortages. Nurses, UTT specialists, paramedics and pharmacists are demanding higher salaries and staff expansion. "I am a young woman and I want to live in my own apartment. But I can't afford it. That's why I have to live with my grandparents," says radiologist Jacqueline Duley. It is reported that this is the largest health strike in the history of the country. He covered several states at the same time — from Colorado to Washington. Employees of only one company are on strike, but their number is 75 thousand. "There is a crisis in health insurance right now. Therefore, we are trying to find a balance of costs and spend money economically," said Michelle Gaskill-Haims, the executive director of the medical company. The demonstration was organized by a coalition of eight trade unions. As it was not possible to reach an agreement with the management, the activists announced that they will stop work for several days. "We have more and more managers, but not enough workers. We want to expand the staff," said Ron Freehand, an ultrasound specialist. The strike will continue until Saturday morning, but union leaders say it could be resumed in November if the demands remain unanswered.
