The Regional Security Service and the Department of Preschool and School Education issued a statement regarding the situation. The prosecutor's office started an investigation. News spread on social networks that kindergarten children were poisoned in Chust district of Namangan region and about a hundred children were brought to the district medical association.
According to the regional pre-school and school education department, symptoms of fever, vomiting, abdominal pain were observed among some children of the kindergarten in Chust district. According to the initial complaint, 5 children were brought to the hospital. Later, a total of 71 children's health complaints were registered and they were quickly admitted to the hospital.
It is noted that none of the hospitalized children are in critical condition.
"Yesterday and today, children were given iodine and anstrumin (iodomarin) medicine in kindergartens. The message that the poisoning was caused by this is under investigation. The reason is that this medicine, which was distributed throughout the republic, caused iodine deficiency among children aged 3 to 15 years. given in order to prevent and improve children's mental development.
Children consumed this drug in other regions of our region. No adverse events were observed in them. The application has not been received," said the statement of the SGB of the region.
It is noted that 9 children were cured and returned to their homes thanks to the quick measures taken, in particular, emergency medical care. The condition of the rest of the children is moderate, they were taken under the supervision of doctors.
Investigations are being carried out by the regional prosecutor's office.
"Since it is still unknown what the minors were poisoned with, we ask the public not to spread false and speculative information. The inspection process is under control. "The news that a state of emergency has been declared in Chust district is untrue," the prosecutor's office said.
