More than 14,000 Uzbeks repatriated from the Middle East

According to the Ministry of Transport, due to military operations in the Middle East, the airspace of Bahrain, Kuwait, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Qatar and Israel is closed for flights. For this reason, citizens of Uzbekistan are being repatriated via alternative routes.
From February 28 to March 7, as of 10:00, 13,543 citizens of Uzbekistan were brought home from Medina and Jeddah airports on 63 flights, and 1,401 from Dubai on 9 flights. Foreign airlines also organized 8 flights, and a total of 1,365 passengers (990 citizens of Uzbekistan) were evacuated.
Most of the citizens traveled to the Middle East through tour packages. The Ministry of Transport called on tour operators to comply with contracts with clients and provide prompt information even in cases of force majeure. Currently, work is underway to evacuate citizens remaining in Qatar via Saudi Arabian airports. Call centers are active 24 hours a day at Uzaviatsiya and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ministry is asking citizens not to panic and to stay in touch with their tour operators.
