More People Are Moving to Uzbekistan for Permanent Residency
In the first half of 2026, 1,649 people moved to Uzbekistan from abroad for permanent residency. This is 976 more people, or 2.5 times higher, than during the same period in 2025.
The largest share of those who moved came from Russia — 580 people, Kazakhstan — 362 people, and Tajikistan — 147 people.
By region, the largest number of people moving to Uzbekistan from abroad settled in Tashkent city — 1,089 people — and Tashkent Region — 269 people.
In the first half of 2025, 673 people moved to Uzbekistan for permanent residency.
