ASTANA, August 25 - Sputnik. A bust of the great scientist and thinker Abu Ali ibn Sina was unveiled in Astana as part of the Days of Culture of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan reports.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan Askhat Oralov, the Minister of Culture of Tajikistan Zulfiya Davlatzoda, representatives of the creative intelligentsia of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan and others.

"Today is a very important day in the history of bilateral relations between our countries. The name and works of Ibn Sina are known throughout the world, so the monument in his honor emphasizes the deep historical connection between our countries," said Minister of Culture Askhat Oralov.

He added that the opening of the monument is one of a series of events taking place within the framework of the Days of Culture of Tajikistan in Kazakhstan. Film screenings, concerts and exhibitions are already taking place in Astana, Almaty and Shymkent. Agricultural fairs are planned.

The monument to the great scientist and philosopher was erected in a park near A. Khrapaty Street, 9.

The bronze bust was made by Tajik masters, and the granite pedestal was provided by the capital's akimat. The height of the monument is 3.1 meters.
