For several days, there have been reports that Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has been injured. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei confirmed Mojtaba's injuries in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera. Mojtaba suffered a broken leg, a contusion around his left eye and minor bruises on his face. He is currently in stable condition.
Mojtaba Khamenei, 56, was appointed Iran's Supreme Leader by the Council of Scholars on March 8. He has long headed his father's office and played a key role in state governance. However, he rarely appears in public.
