Mirziyoyev received the Secretary General of the CIS

On July 10, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Sergey Lebedev, the Secretary General of this organization, who is in our country under the leadership of the observer mission of the Commonwealth of Independent States. At the beginning of the meeting, the Secretary General of the CIS sincerely congratulated the leader of our country on his convincing victory in the election of the President of Uzbekistan and wished him happiness and success in ensuring the stable development and prosperity of our country. It was noted that the election was held in full compliance with international standards. It was emphasized that the high level of voter turnout and the results of the vote show that the population supports and trusts the implemented reform program. Issues of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation within the CIS were also discussed. In the following years, Uzbekistan signed more than 40 agreements of the Commonwealth, joined 24 sectoral bodies. The first meeting of the advisory council of the heads of the election commissions of the CIS member states was held yesterday in Tashkent. At the meeting, special attention was paid to the implementation of programs and projects aimed at expanding multilateral cooperation.
