Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting in Khiva.
Issues of further strengthening of strategic partnership and alliance relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, expansion of all-round practical cooperation were discussed.
Particular attention was paid to the acceleration of cooperation projects, the implementation of investment agreements and trade agreements in accordance with previously reached high-level agreements.
The heads of state listened to the reports of the deputy prime ministers and co-chairs of the working groups under the intergovernmental commission on the promotion of joint projects in engineering, energy, transport and logistics, mining, textile, food industry and other sectors.
The presidents gave specific instructions on increasing trade, forming a long-term program on industrial cooperation, and implementing infrastructural projects in transport and energy.
Issues of regional importance, including the rational use of water resources, expansion of cooperation within the framework of the Consultative meeting of the leaders of Central Asian countries, and the development of the situation in Afghanistan were discussed.
The plan of future bilateral and multilateral joint activities was reviewed. The meeting took place in an open, sincere and friendly atmosphere as always.
