The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, as part of a press conference, spoke in detail on what the republic relies on when deciding to join the EAEU
Tajikistan is studying the experience of other countries to make a decision on joining the Eurasian Economic Union.
This is how the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Sirojiddin Mukhriddin answered the question of a Sputnik Tajikistan correspondent.
It is noted that the country pays special attention to the analysis of the circumstances of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan joining the organization.
"Because these countries have similar economic indicators with Tajikistan," the minister explained. Sirojiddin Muhriddin also stressed that the authorities of the republic are still evaluating the pros and cons of joining the EAEU.
"The decision to join the Eurasian Economic Union will be taken as carefully as possible," he concluded.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic for the EAEU Ashurboy Solehzoda said that the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union are the main trading partners of Tajikistan.
Thus, the EAEU countries account for more than 40% of the republic's trade turnover.
Industrial production of the EAEU increased by 2.8%
Recall that since 2015, Tajikistan has been considering the feasibility of the country's entry into the EAEU.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly spoken out about the need and importance of building up cooperation between the republic and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. He also stated the successful development of relations within the organization.
