Milliy Majlis approved in the first reading the project on granting economic independence to the Central Bank

It is proposed to provide the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) with economic independence.

Report informs, this is reflected in the draft amendments to the law "On the Central Bank", which was considered in the first reading at today's parliament session.

According to the document, the CBA has economic independence, and the funds received from the sale of its assets or other disposal of them are related to its income. Except for the cases provided for by this Law, the CBA shall not be liable for the obligations of the state, and the state shall not be liable for the obligations of the CBA.

The draft amendments were put to the vote and adopted in the first reading.
