Three servicemen who survived the training exercise in Kazakhstan’s Mangystau region—during which 14 soldiers lost their lives—have returned home after completing their military service.
One of them is 19-year-old Akjol Temerkhan; he was hospitalized following the tragedy and was recently discharged. Two other servicemen—Kuandik Beket from the Atyrau region and Nikita Udalov from the West Kazakhstan region—have also returned home after finishing their service.
As a reminder, on September 24, 17 servicemen were swept into the Caspian Sea due to a sudden deterioration in weather conditions and strong winds during a training exercise. Fourteen of them died, while three survived.
