Employees of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan discovered and neutralized a group of militants who arrived from Afghanistan and were planning to commit a terrorist attack
Terrorists who illegally crossed the Tajik-Afghan border have been liquidated in Tajikistan.
This was reported by the agency "Khovar" with reference to the State Committee for National Security of the country.
On the night of August 29-30, armed fighters crossed the Tajik-Afghan border near the village of Kevron, not far from Darvaz.
They were going to commit a terrorist act on the territory of Tajikistan on the eve of State Independence Day.
The group was soon discovered and placed under surveillance, the report said.
An anti-terrorist group arrived at the place of illegal border crossing to conduct a special operation.
On the morning of September 5, the terrorists were surrounded. They were ordered to immediately drop their weapons and surrender.
However, the terrorists did not respond to the order and were the first to open fire.
After that, the Committee's employees launched a counter-terrorist operation, as a result of which three militants were eliminated.

It is reported that the terrorists were members of the Jamoat Ansorullo* and managed to create a cache on the territory of Tajikistan in advance, where, in addition to a variety of weapons and ammunition, there was extremist literature and 10 thousand dollars.
Earlier, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said that the authorities of the republic are in favor of a peaceful resolution of the situation in Afghanistan, and also support the creation of an inclusive Afghan government that can represent all ethnic, political and social groups to guarantee the rights and freedoms of the population.
