Mike Myers’ “The Cat in the Hat” costume to be auctioned

The costume worn by Mike Myers as “The Cat in the Hat” in the 2003 film based on Dr. Seuss’ book has been put up for auction by Propstore. The auction will take place on August 26.

The lot includes a red-and-white felt top hat marked “R 3”, a fur-covered spandex jumpsuit labeled “Mike Myers No. 1”, a rubber mask with a polyester strap, and a pair of gloves.

The costume still bears signs from the filming process. The mask has dirt marks on the face, while the synthetic fur is wrinkled in some areas. The items are estimated to be worth $12,000–$24,000, with a starting bid of $6,000.

Also on August 26, a white shirt and wide-legged trousers worn by Uma Thurman in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction will be auctioned. The items are estimated to be worth $15,000–$30,000.
