The leader of the Jalisco New Generation drug cartel, Nemesio Osguera Cervantes (nicknamed "El Mencho"), who was wanted for a long time in Mexico, was killed during a military operation. Four members of the cartel were also killed, two were seriously injured. Three of the soldiers were injured.
"El Mencho" is a 59-year-old former police officer who was wanted in the United States for a large-scale cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl smuggling operation with a $ 15 million reward.
