A 6.5-magnitude earthquake has struck the southwestern Mexican state of Guerrero. The tremors were felt in the capital, Mexico City, and an emergency alert was issued. A press conference being held by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum was temporarily suspended for security reasons during the quake. The president and journalists left the building in an orderly manner.
According to official data, there were no reports of casualties or serious damage. The situation is under control.
