Meta was found guilty of allowing children to encounter sexually explicit material and pedophiles on its platforms and was fined $ 375 million. Arturo Bejar, Meta's former head of engineering, said that the platform's algorithms suggested sexually explicit content to minors. Even Bejar's own daughter was offered sexual intercourse by a stranger on Instagram. Also, according to internal research by Meta, 16% of Instagram users reported seeing unwanted "explicit" footage or content depicting sexual intercourse in the past week.
