Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Caspian states to be held before the end of the year - Russian Ambassador

Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin said that the Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Caspian states on the activation of the mechanisms reflected in the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea "will certainly take place" before the end of this year. Prior to this, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, announced the support of official Ashgabat for this event, expressing hope that it would be held this year.

“We just need to agree on a specific date when it will be convenient for everyone. Nobody is against this meeting. One thing I can say is that such a meeting will definitely take place before the end of the year. At it, the parties will be able to sum up the results of cooperation and outline new prospects. So the dialogue is going to be very extensive in terms of its content. And now, at the level of experts, many issues are being studied to put them on the agenda of the upcoming meeting, ”said the head of the Russian diplomatic mission.

Also, the Russian diplomat, speaking about the bilateral partnership between Ashgabat and Moscow in the field of shipping structures, said that the visit of the governor of the Astrakhan region Igor Babushkin is expected in the near future, during which "many practical issues" will be resolved, SNG-MEDIA reports.

In addition, the Ambassador shared his personal impressions of his work in Turkmenistan and his trip to the NTZ "Avaza", where the International Scientific and Practical Conference "The Caspian Sea - the Sea of Peace and Friendship" was recently held.

Turkmenistan and Russia have close relations in various fields, including in the field of shipping. Here it is worth noting the cooperation between the Turkmenbashi seaport and the sea harbor of Astrakhan, where a special economic zone has been created. The last time the head of the region was in Turkmenistan was in April of this year as part of the “Caspian – Sea of Friendship” motocross.
