Mario Gomez recalled his memories of the game against Petr Cech: 

“I set up the ball for a penalty and looked at the goalkeeper. Petr Cech is a real monster. When I turned around, I knew exactly where to kick it. I would hit it hard in such and such a corner, he wouldn’t be able to save it. But when I turned around and got closer to the ball, I thought, ‘No, he’ll save it,’ and I changed my mind. I kicked it in the other corner and scored.

After the game, I was called for a doping test. When I entered, Cech was also sitting in the room. I was a little uncomfortable, and he looked at me and said:

- Why did you change your mind in the end?

- I don’t understand what?

- You wanted to kick in the other corner, didn’t you?

He just described exactly the thoughts that were going through my mind. I was amazed. He knew everything by my behavior and my movements. His "That's when I realized what kind of goalkeeper he was!"
