In the Quva district of the Fergana region, a man set fire to his father-in-law's house following a family dispute.
It was established that his wife had taken their child and returned to her parents' home. The man, having recently returned from Russia, went to his father-in-law's house to see his child. Angered by his mother-in-law's remark that his wife was being given in marriage to another man, he returned to the house a few hours later carrying gasoline. He poured gasoline in one of the rooms, set it on fire, and fled the scene. The fire caused damages amounting to 109,884,000 soums. In court, the man fully admitted his guilt and expressed remorse. The damages have been fully compensated.
The court found him guilty of the crime stipulated in Article 173, Part 2, Clause "b" of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to three years of correctional labor.
