Man known for burning Qurans shot dead in Sweden

Salwan Momika, a 38-year-old Iraqi refugee and critic of Islam who was known for repeatedly burning the Quran, was shot dead in his home in Sweden. He was shot dead while live streaming on TikTok on January 29.
Salwan Momika was known for his involvement in Quran burnings. He and his partner Salwan Najim were charged with inciting racial hatred after they burned copies of the Quran four times in 2023. He was due to be sentenced on January 30 for inciting hatred by burning the Quran.
Iraq had offered a $2 million bounty on his head and a Quran made of two kilograms of gold.
